This is a real though course. It is not because I have to run like airborne course but I have to think more than I used to run. I lack of sleep, I lost my appetite and demoralise my gut. I went for recee in the morning and back to the base to prepare my appreciation on tactics for 8 hours and another 2 hours for my presentation material. Sleeping on 6 x 4 ft map is one of my routine. That is all about if you attend Army course so called G3 Staff and Tactic Course at Institut Pengurusan Tentera Darat (IPDA) at Port Dickson.
One thing that I learnt from this course is, there is no sleep if you want to win the battle.
Now I know, how hard to lead armies to the war. One leader must consider all factors to win the war and think like enemies to defeat them. Use the minimal resources to give maximum casualties to the enemies. Understand the natures and manipulate to deceive the enemies. The leader himself must have all attitudes to command their men. Sun Tzu said, “If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles”.
I still remember the story of Salahuddin Al-Ayubi who aborts his mission for battle just because his soldiers failed to stay up for Tahajjud prayer and his highest wisdom to infiltrate to the tent of Richard, the lion heart as a doctor. No space for sleep, no space for ignorant.
I have another 3 weeks to go, 3 weeks of lack of sleep, 3 weeks of determination. May Allah bless me, Ameen.
